WIll Yahoo offer IMAP in the near future?

I am getting tired of having to open a browser to check for my yahoo mail, when I can check all my other accounts (aol, gmail -- both free) with Apple mail program. I think Yahoo will quickly lose its competitive edge if the mail program becomes obsolete and perceived by users as less user friendly and inferior.
