Why does Reality T.V affect people's real relationship with their co-stars?

Some people can't handle the fame and change because of it. Obviously, Heidi changed but that was also because of Spencer. If you look at some of the Real Housewives, they're usually all friends except for the one or two people who create drama cause they think they're better than most people.
