Is �35.75 a normal charge for a 60 sec no obligation dental examination?

I have been charged to sit for 1 min exactly in the chair and have 12 teeth looked at for prospective treatment. I wanted to take a second opinion and didn't take it any further with this dentist. I wasn't informed of any charges due but subsequently received an invoice for �35.75 for a dental examination. Is this normal?
