Long Term Accomodation that is affordable in Sydney while I am having radiotherapy treatment.?

Guess what I got for Christmas this year? A Brain Tumor! No, it's no joke. Just over a week ago it was confirmed and now it's the merry-go-round of specialist after specialist. I am in Adelaide and have realised our medical fraternity does not have the experience or the equipment to treat my malady. So I am on my way to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. I can't get to see my Oncologist till after the new year but my destiny is certain, I will have to receive Gamma Rays to my tumor sooner or later. It is not if, but when. On perusing the web I have realised how expensive it is to live in Sydney. So I ask you out there does any one know of affordable accomodation for somewhere between 3 - 6 weeks. I am male, 45, live by good values, morals and ethics. Can some one guide me to the nooks and crannies the locals know about?
