Is our legal system nowadays far too lenient with criminals?

Dont know about you guys, but in oklahoma we lock up pot smokers and put pedophiles on monitors and let them stay in their homes and watch tv. my EX son in law had pot in a school zone, no insurance and they barely kept him a month..no one wanted to come get him out, so they just lowered it to time served and out he went..
